Timing for motor break in?

Okay guys well I have a motor I'm about to need to break in my 351 Cleveland, the motor has 500 miles on it or so but wiped a cam lobe so got a new cam and lifters. What's the best way to get timing set before firing it up for the 30 minute break in?

Also what should it be set at for the break in period?

Thanks,
Spencer

Good question. For timing, I'd want it to be somewhere between 0 and 10 degrees BTDC. Any less and it might be hard to start, and any more may cause it to kick back in starting. So, to get that timing, roughly, I'd park the engine on the halfway point, 5 degrees on the damper, and set the dizzy such that the rotor points at the tooth of the reluctor.
