What lubricant is used in the manual steering box , I'm going to check Mine on the '59, and need to know what to use

I went with the grease in mine as I heard to many stories of leaky boxes after filling them with oil. I believe I drilled out one of the plugs and intalled a zerk, then kept pumping untill it came out of the other plug. The thing has worked great for several years so far.
