I have a 7.3 and I think it's leaking oil out of the HPOP but I'm really not positive. I need help in figuring out whether it's that or something worse. It's a new truck to me and don't have any experience working on diesels so I would like some assistance here.

 

Clean the oil out of the valley. Then, using a mirror on a stick with a flashlight, start the truck and watch the line fittings (both on the pump and each head), as well as taking a peek at the plug underneath the bottom of the HPOP.

Once the oil is cleaned up, you should be able to tell where it's coming from.

 

ALso in the center of the very back is a snap ring that leaked on mine.
