Backyard cab removal; 1990 F350 crew cab
I search the Internet for a method I could use, but came up short. I don't have a tractor or big tree branch; I didn't want to build a gantry.
My method required:
1. 4 stout saw horses, two 4x4x10 timbers, various chunks of cribbing wood (4x4 and 6x6)
2. Scissors jack from Saturn car, gear bottle jack from some truck. Make tool to allow the use of a battery-powered drill to run jacks
3. Eight cinder blocks; set of jack stands.
4.Come-along and chain
How to:
1. Remove 4 bolts from cab mounts; also, electrical, steering, braking, transmission, heater, AC,....links between frame and cab.
2. Use various jacks, cribbing, cinder blocks to get cab up on the 4x4s resting on the saw horses.
3. Use come-along to yank frame out from under cab.
4. Lower.
