Do a well-documented, step-by-step how-to (pics, pics, and part numbers!!) and I'll put it in the Tech Thread compilation. Try to write and describe it as if it's an article for CarCraft, 4WOR, or Hot Rod magazine.
Show us what ya got Cracker!
I've got it all written up and about to go post it now. After I post it, move it to where you want or let me know if I need to edit it, shorten it, explain more, explain less, reduce the # of pics, increase the #of pics, etc!
Yes Sir, thank you.
Due to the fact I am computer illiterate, I have taken some threads, printed them and laminated them to put in one of three Bump folders in the file cabinet. I think HIO said he was going to add this to a tech forum. Do ya think there be pics with it as well instead of D/L a photo bucket?

Let me send it to you later tonight with pictures instead of direct links. It won't take me to long to edit it, but I have to go shovel mulch right now and then have dinner with my inlaws after that so I am fairly busy at the moment.
I also use Photobucket when I post photos here. When you click on the chain symbol (link) above the picture, it'll give you four file link types on the right to choose from.
If you click on the 4th (last link choice in the list) that says, " IMG (for forums, boards)" and then copy that link, when you paste that link here (or on any forum), it'ill show up as the actual picture itself and not as just a clickable link to take you to the picture.

Well I know HOW to post it as pics vs links, I have posted quite a few pics in this thread, but such a long post I thought links might be better, because if I added them as pics it would probably be 4-5 pages scrolling. I can edit it and change them to pics if that makes it easier to follow along in the upgrade.
So why does everyone seem to be using a late 90's Superduty to early 2000's Superduty hydroboost unit?
From the previous posts on this thread, it looks like there are plenty more options... which is where my interest in this thread lays.
Not very many threads have done a good job of listing what hydroboost units should/shouldn't be used and for what reasons. Anyone have a list of units that are considered "good" for full size pick-ups like Bumpsides and Dentsides?
This seems like a great conversion to do in conjunction with some rear discs, but there's a real lack of info for brake morons like myself.
EDIT: My application would be for my 1978 F150 2WD. Eventually I want to set up my "big" Lincoln/T-bird front calipers + do a rear disc conversion.

That is a good question, but I do not have an answer for you. I was well aware of Chevy Astro van hydro units, but opted for a Ford setup because I figured it would cause me less problems using a Ford m/c. Could be confusing using a Chevy m/c as they are plumbed front & rear opposite of the way Ford does. I was sort of compiling a list of vehicles that have hydroboost and the bigger F series seemed to be the most common & plentiful.
I think overall dimensions of hydroboost units might be very helpful, in a big old pickup its not an issue but for sure if you are putting one into a car where space is a little tighter, knowing exactly how big one is compared to another could be a god-send.
