Smile 2016 F-250 Ford Webpage now up...

Hello all, first post on this site....

FYI, I just noticed tonight, that you can now access the Ford website, e.g., Build and Price etc., for the new 2016 Super Duty trucks. I have been watching and waiting for some weeks now, while lurking here. With F-250 production having started (per Donlen) I was wondering why this info was not yet available from Ford.

However, I think they are still tweaking the new ('16) site at this hour (11:30 p.m. PDT) as the Build and Price was working, but I just noticed that link went down again, a few minutes ago (time of this post). Also, not all of the color options links are working, only the new Black, at this hour.

I remember a couple of years ago, when I was preparing to buy my F-150, it took a day or two (after posting) for the new M.Y. webpage to fully get up and running, with all clickable links functional.

Ford delays the release of the website since they are still trying to move the 2015s, and the 2016 isn't on ground yet. 95% of people may build their own, but then go in and either buy whats on the lot, or have the dealer locate and bring in a truck close to what they want. So while you could have ordered a '16 awhile ago, that's not the norm. One more year and then on to excitement of the new model!

You are absolutely correct in your assessment! It is a combination of their business model and a deep understanding of human-nature.

Even though, I have understood this, (your opine) I always get anxious to see 'what's new' with the next M.Y. vehicle! LOL.

I had thought that the '16 would have some significant changes; but it now seems, that will not be the case until next M.Y. year, with the '17. I want to upgrade from my F-150, but also want the latest in the new truck tech'. For me, always, the dilemma.

My local dealer in Corona, CA still has a bunch of nice '15s on the lot.

Is it worth picking up a new "16" or worth the wait for the "17"? Also is it certain that the "17" will be the int and ext remodel?

Yes, the '17 is the redesign. I've been at several Ford events where the reps have confirmed this. IMO I'd wait if you aren't in a rush. The long term ownership advantages of the new body are going to be pretty swell.

That's a good question. I went to buy a 15 and could not find options I wanted so I have 2016 F350 on order which will be a huge upgrade from my 02.
personally I'm afraid of all the new!!!!

I have not had very good success with an all new vehicle first year of production. but if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any at all, LOL

The 10 speed trans sounds nice but aluminum body not so sure yet????
I would rather wait for all the bugs to get worked out.

I really like the look of current super duty's

Just my opinion.

The second a new 17' Super Duty pulls along side of your 16', your brand new 60K truck will look 15 years old....instantly.

I was in pre-mobilization for Iraq in 2009 when then 2010 Mustang was revealed. I used the limited bandwidth we had to stream the video and didn't think I cared for the tail lights of the car at all. I strongly considered called my dealer (the one I work at now, but back then I wasn't in the business) and having them get me a 2009 and hold it. Then I saw grabber blue and didn't care about the taillights and ended up ordering a 2010. Once I took delivery I ended up liking the 2010+ tail lights better and couldn't believe how dated the 2009s looked with their big squarish styling (Something that looked perfect just a few months before). It still comes down to personal flavor, but that's my real life experience that caught me by surprise.

Additionally the AL cab technology will be two years old by then, just new for SD. And Al as a body panel is obviously significantly older. If you are going gas, then the transmission should be worth its weight (and the wait). Even if issues do crop up there, Ford has shown its new colors by standing behind their Focus/Fiesta power shift with the seal issue that has affected some cars by extending the warranty to 150k. Makes me pretty comfortable with my wife owning one (which hasn't had any issues at all, though its after the seal change so I don't expect the problem).

Someone posted in the 150 forum what I thought was gold. He said he has always been an early adopter and while he has been burnt a few times, a majority of the time he just gets to enjoy the best there is to offer years before everyone else.
