hello, i have an ranger that dose not start an don't know what the problem is. I drained the oil an it was clean had no metal or water in it. checked to see if my starter was still engage in an it was fine.i put a torc wrench on it an try to hand crank it over an it dose not want to turn. when i try to start it, it just clicks clicks an done. I have ran out of options on what to do? any help?

 

Might be helpful to have more info, like which engine, miles on it, how its been running, how its been maintained, ect.
Sounds like its seized up if you cant hand turn it. Did this condition come about suddenly after some event???
Liquid in the cylinders can cause hydraulic locking, so removing all of the spark plugs to relieve the condition might let you hand turn the engine & get an idea if & whats in there. Let us know how it goes.

 

Take the spark plugs out and see if it will turn over by hand, meaning put a wrench on the crankshaft pulley bolt and turn the crankshaft by hand.
If the crankshaft won't move then you have a useless engine, look for a good used one at the junkyard.
