Did a York come as an option on any of the IDI's

Trying to mount my York 210 in exchange for my current A/C so I can finish my On Board Air setup. Can anyone tell me from a parts catalog or the likes where I could possibly find a factory solution to the bracket before I start hacking away and adding to my exisiting A/C bracket.

Cheers,
Devin

I thought these engines were used in some medium duty trucks and school busses. Anything with air brakes should have some kind of compressor mount, but good luck finding one.

I've read it is possible to convert the AC pump to a compressor, but you have to do some plumbing to trap the compressor oil.

I have just what your looking for, a bracket that replaces your compressor bracket to hold the York compressor.
I had it on mine for awhile before going with a late model ac compressor.
Doubt it's factory, it's all welded steel.
Let me know if your interested and I'll dig it out and take some pictures of it.

Hi Dennis, I know this is an old post but I wanted to see if you still had this mounting bracket and some pics of it?

Thanks!

not Dennis but I ran both the Mopar V twin and york on my 83.... I have a V-twin for my 93 but haven't installed it as I use it with my genny on the back of my camper.

you will have to Fab your own bracket.....

Is this what you looking for ?????

they make nice Air Compressors

You'll have to give me a couple of weeks, I'm into a big project right now and it's buried in the back of the shop.

the york compressor was used on medium duty interntional trucks, so you may be able to find a bracket on one of them

Thanks for the replies guys. The Bracket I seek is P/N: D6TZ-2882-A, D6TA 2882-BA. It was used on all 1976 and early 1977's with the last 360/390 FE engines. The bracket for the earlier models or for the cars is lower and to the left by about a half an inch.

The -2882- brackets from any earlier FE engine will not mate to the side of the York for 76', and the 1973-1975 Brackets had the compressor vertical, this one has it mounted horizontal with the head facing the drivers side fender.
None of the C6-7-8 era brackets will reach the york either. Thanks again for your help gentlemen.

Once at a junkyard I saw an 83-86 idi with dealer installed air, it had a York turned horizontal under the hood iirc

The brackets definitely weren't homemade

I remember way back in the day those power-robbing Yorks were on everything because they were the only game in town. I used to drive a KW logging truck part time with the normal big 855 cubic inch Cummins engine and if you were really paying attention you could feel the engine slightly shudder when the AC York kicked on. Evidently they used quite a bit of HP to run. Had to have been all kinds of mounting brackets because anything with AC had a vertical or horizontal mounted York. A guy I worked with converted one to an air compressor on his pickup, heard of others doing the same.
