Le sigh. I've said for years that if I'm not wrong once a day I'm not trying hard enough. I tried hard this day, and have been wrong twice so far. On this occasion I said there is no bad beer. Then Yama4fitty posted this. It isn't even malt liquor by label, it's a lager. Rrr!
Really pissed off the tiny Mom and Pop stores.

Hope this makes you feel better :
"Malt liquor is a strong lager or ale in which sugar, corn or other adjuncts are added to the malted barley to boost the total amount of fermentable sugars in the wort, and thus boost the final alcohol concentration without creating a heavier or sweeter taste."
Oh and Steel Reserve is nicknamed "High Gravity Lager" or "Triple Export Malt Liquor."
So, it still really isn't beer!!

when i cook i use a lot of sugar and cinnamon in the mix. if you try to drink it rite away it has quite a "bite".
if you put it up in a cool dry place for 2-3 months it mellows out very nice. 6 months it is so mellow it tastes just like cold apple pie when drinking it. then after a minute or so in the stomach it turns into hot apple pie as the alcohol takes effect.
after 1 quart of 6 month old a little dude sneaks up behind you and whacks you in the back of the head with a 8 lb sledgehammer.
it does not go bad because i put it in the mason jars warm. then the jar vacuum seals itself once everything cools off in storage.
i missed a jar out of the first batch and it was down in the crawl space for 3 years.
it was smooooooth.
