Steering Tilt for 1985 F-150

I have 85, 4WD F-150,manual on floor. The steering moves up & down.Is there any way to stop this? I moved turn signal forward and rear but nothing happens. I read thread on related issue but could not find the answer. I will appreciate some help.

The pot metal casting may be broken in the column. It happens on 4x4 trucks when people use the steering wheel to pull themselves in the truck. This piece is a pain to replace and isn't cheap. I would go to the junkyard and find another complete column in good shape and swap it in.
