Got my Letter today Pertaining to 15M01 EGT Sensors
I receive my offical letter from Ford Customer Satisfaction today indicating that the Exhaust Gas Temerature (EGT) Sensors warranty is being extended to 80,000 miles or 8 years on my 2011. The replacement will occur at no charge "if your service engine Soon" indicator illuminates. It covers all 4 EGT sensors. It also says that if you paid to have the sensor repair done before this letter, you "may be eligible for a refund." You must have your paid receipt and take it to your nearest dealer before November 15th, 2015.
I just about fell over when I opened it up.

I received mine today as well. It's really kind of useless since my guess is most 2011 models are close or over 80,000. I think 100k would have been a very reasonable number for trucks built 5 years ago.
Oh well, at least I have until November which is more than what I had before.
The positive part of this is if owners who have had failures can get a refund for customer pay, that is great.

Got mine in the mail too. Glad to see Ford making good on this. I've not had any EGT problems but it's good to know that they'll cover the cost of replacement. I'm closer to the 10,000 miles/year (80,000 miles/8 years) type useage as indicated in the letter, but it would have been nice to cover those that have higher use rates too.

They aren't going any farther than they absolutely have to. Federal Emissions requires 50,000 on heavy duty trucks (between 8,500 lbs and 19,500 lbs GVWR) It looks like they upped the warranty on these sensors to conform to the maximum federal requirement for light duty trucks (less than 8,500 lbs GVWR), which happens to be 80,000 miles.
