Seems like a Power Drop?

I have a 1991 F150 XLT Lariat. I took it out this morning and noticed that as I hit the gas the transmission seemed to go into high rpms before shifting. Shift was smooth though. Also when it got to a certain speed the a/c stooped blowing. I could hear the blower still on, but no air. When the truck slowed a bit the air would start blowing again, but first from the floor vent then to the dash. I looked at all the vaccum lines but didn't see anything disconnected. Was wondering if anyone has had this happen and what was the issue? Im wondering about the altenator but not sure, any help would be greatly appreciated!!
