Morning all, it's gonna be hot today and tomorrow. It's forecasted to be 105 the next couple days. All I can say is yuck and no thank you.

We are heading up into the mountains today to see if the huckleberries are ready yet

That works Micah. As long as Pat keeps it in Nebraska.

Morning everyone. I am wiped out today. My entire body aches. Pain medication didn't work well last night. Finally gave up and went to bed at 2:00 AM. Woke up at 6:00 AM and thought about taking more pain medication. Decided I wasn't going to take any today. The gals went to the Nampa Rec Center for some swimming and hot-tubbing, so I'll just be grumpy and miserable by myself. If I'm too grumpy when they get home, I'll take some pain medication if they "want" me to take some. Sometimes Susi can tell when I'm having more pain than I let on. That's when she makes me take some pain medication. Gotta love that woman. She takes care of me better than I take care of myself.

The VAMC Boise's "All Veterans Welcome Home" event was great. Lots of networking for my fraternity. Met and talked with a lot of Veterans of all ages. It's amazing what some people have lived through. Makes me proud to be an American and to have served my country.

105*F and higher forecasted for the weekend. I got a bit sunburned yesterday, so I'm staying inside for a while today.

Pat, my back is acting up a LOT lately. VA says I have to see Physical Therapy first, before I can go any further. VA found another herniation (8mm this time). This time it's located at L3-L4, which is above my fusion area. I have to jump through their hoops again before I can get any real help. Left shoulder appointment doesn't happen until August. I'll get to see PT as soon as they can schedule me, whenever that will be.

The pain is always there. Most days it's manageable, but there are some days where the pain meds might as well be a candy bar. I don't take pain meds every day, but the days I do need them, they're not very helpful.

Craig I understand your dilemma on the pain meds. I quite taking mine 2 months after my accident. There were and still are days where I want to take some but I know they don't help me. They just take my mind off the pain. So when I am having a bad day I just go spend time by myself until I think I may be pleasant to be around lol

Hi everyone.

I hear ya, Micah. When my wife and kids tell me to take some pills, I take some pills. Otherwise, I'll suffer through the pain in silence. I haven't had a painless day since the mid-1980s, so I don't know anything different. If I had a day without pain, I'd probably think something was wrong with me.

I did receive a call from the VAMC Boise today. I have a spine evaluation, with a doctor this time, on 7/17/2015, so we'll see what the outcome of that is at that time. I was informed that this is an evaluation only, no physical therapy will be done during this appointment. Based on that, I'm going to wait until after the appointment before scheduling any physical therapy.

Spoke with the insurance adjuster today. He authorized another alignment to be performed by another collision repair shop. I contacted the shop he recommended and found out I have, and I quote, "A big *** truck" because the wheelbase is too long to fit on their alignment rack safely. So, I now have another alignment scheduled at a local shop next Monday, 7/6/2015 at 10:00 AM.

It looks like I might not have time to get my Mustang project completed as planned. I haven't even been able to really start on it, yet. At least, not the important stuff (i.e., engine, transmission, rear end) anyway. I could start on the suspension stuff, but I'd like to have the rear gear set installed before I do that. Cosmetic stuff can be done whenever. Stuff like interior cleaning, sound-deadening, heat barrier, speakers, window tinting, etc.

All the little stuff doesn't matter if the engine and transmission aren't working properly.
