F600 coming in as scrap next week

Being the scrapyard, we get all sorts of good stuff that I get to save! This puppy comes in from the local seed place next week sometimes, and I may buy it since my next project was going to be a cab over something or another!

Vin decode please? C61CUF31819

Maybe I'll try and run her first?

looks like it could be "saved". I have always liked cabovers of any kind.

Saved or parted out, first thing to know is it is a C600, not an F600. Engines interchange, rear axles would, but many parts are not interchangeable between F and C series.

I think someone put some F600 badges on her! I didn't take a peak underneath yet but will soon, that PTO may end up going in my 58. If I don't drive this sucker around and fall in love, I will do my best to save her from the crusher, looked too good to go away!

C61 = C600 Tilt Cab (gas).

C = 330 2V Medium Duty FT engine.

U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.

F31819 = 1969.

175" Wheelbase.

COLOR: Blank.*

C611 = C600 Tilt Cab (gas), 22,000 lbs. GVWR

4B91: 4B = Black all Vinyl // 91 = 91A Standard Cab.

A = New Process 435 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

F2D: F2 = Eaton model 15221 Two Speed Rear Axle / 5.83/8.17 / 15,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity // D = Ford-Rockwell Timken 7,000 lbs. Capacity Front Axle.

22,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

164 net HP @ 3,800 RPM

740661:

74 = Seattle WA Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

0661 = Domestic Special Order number, truck ordered special, not "bought off the lot."

*When there is no COLOR code stamped on the Warranty Plate, the truck was painted a non standard color, making it a Domestic Special Order.

The emblem with the yellow reflector was introduced in 1968. 1968/72 F100/1000's & B500/700's have them mounted on the hood sides. 1968/86 C series Tilt Cabs are mounted on the doors.

There is no specific 500 and larger series emblem. Emblem with FORD 600 on it could apply to B600 (School Bus), C600 or F600.

Notice the black bellows on the far left side of the floor pan, this is operates the windshield washers.

It could be electric (touch it once with your foot) or the manually operated type that requires several pumps of your foot to get it to spray.

I always liked those in fire trucks. I have never driven one that old, though. I heard the stick shift linkage was trouble. In fire trucks they were all automatics. What do you plan to do with it?

My plan was to pull the walls off so she's a flatbed and possibly diesel swap (I'm a fan of those). It looks though like the boss would love it gone sooner rather than later so trying to find a buyer now since I'd really hate to see it scrapped!
