Any idea if I took the steering column & steering box off of the 85' f150 donor truck if it would work since I am using the motor that already has the power steering pump on it from the same donor truck?
What about if I took the steering column with the power steering pump & the gearbox & the pitman arm from the 85 f150? Do you think it would be possible to make it work in the 77 f100 2wd? I am already installing the 302 motor & the auto trans. from the 85 into the 77 f100.
Do you know if the gearbox out of a 85 f150 2wd would work? That's where the motor & trans. is coming from

Answer on the Bullnose PS gear box compatibility with a Dentside is still the same as mentioned before.
1979 is the last year the trucks had the ignition key/switch in the dash. Beginning in 1980, the ignition switch was mounted on the side of the column.
Can a Bullnose steering column be installed in a Dentside or a Bumpside? I dunno. I've never attempted it.
From a more simplistic stand point, and less hassle, it would probably be much better to get a column from a Dentside that's already compatible with a Saginaw PS gear box.
Thank you ultraranger for taking the time to respond. I'm sure you saved me ALOT of headache. I am going to take your advise. I sure don't have the time or the money to reinvent the wheel!!!
