1988 F-250: Help With New Ball Joints

I'm going to replace the ball joints in my 1988 F-250 tomorrow. It has the TTB front end, 3850 GVWR. I don't have the four-pronged socket to remove the locknut to pull the rotor assembly, and I'd rather not buy a set.

What size am I looking for? I can't seem to find anywhere that tells me.

I'm pretty sure you can rent them from the parts store, but when I got mine I just went in there and said "I need the socket for ford hubs" and they handed me one. It wasn't over $15. While you are there you can rent the ball joint press, get the biggest set they have. Never know what cups you will end up needing.

I bit the bullet already, bought a ball joint press when I purchased the Moog ball joints. All I need now is the socket, and I want to make damn sure it's the right one because once those hubs are disassembled I won't have wheels to go swap it out.

i was under the impression there is only one of those four wheel drive ford hub sockets. But if you did get the wrong one, you won't have taken that much apart to get to it and you could reassemble and get the right one. If i remember you just remove the wheel, then fourwheel drive hub locks, and then the next step would be where you need the socket.

Well, the ball joints were installed just fine, but now for some reason my Rear Antilock light is on. According to the owner's manual, this light means that my ABS system has been disabled, and it needs to be taken to a professional to have the ABS restored

Anybody know why, or how to fix it?
