Dana Axle

I have 2 axles that Im trying to id. One has 70-18 cast into the pupkin and the other says 70-3HD on it.. Can anyone tell me what axles they are? Thanks for any help

Dana 70-18? I have never heard of this one. The Dana 70-3HD is more than likely out of a mid-80's GM product. I think Ford used the 70-HD and maybe Dodge did. Are you sure the stamp reads 70-18? or is it 70-B. It would help if we knew what they came from?

The 70-18 one is out of an 85 F-250 and i'm pretty sure its just a FF dana 60 and i think i remember the ring gear being 9.75" too. I don't know what the other axle came out of though, but it is massive

9.75"? Humm- Ford made a 9 3/4" ring but so was the Dana. You can tell by the cover bolts Dana = 10; Ford 9.75 = 12 BUT the Ford 9.75 didn't come out until '99. So if the guy installed another rearend...? Still, the 70-18 has me puzzled.
