Who has a f350 drw 6.2?

Need a new truck---- wanted to get a drw gasser but they are hard to come by. Got side tracked looking at 6.7ps but back to gas--where i started. I like the thought of the diesel but price, maint. costs, diesel fuel price and just the truth that it would be overkill for what i want to do. So going back to my dealer to talk about ordering my truck in black with the stuff i want on it-like a 4.30 rear end-- and front end for that matter. Yea i know that know i am going to waiting on a 2016.
So who has drw gassers that think this is the way to go?

I have a 2013 F350 SC DRW 4.30 gears 2x4, I had to order it because you will never find one on a lot. We are very happy with the setup and would buy another one in a second, We also pull a 16K trailer with it 8 months out of the year, that's the only reason we have a big truck.

I have a 2013 CC DRW 6.2L 2wd with 4.30 gears - I had to order it also as finding the above combination on a lot is basically non existent. I replaced a 2006 F250 CC 6.0 PSD with 3.73 gears with the above truck. I've pulled a 34" 3 horse Gooseneck horse trailer with living quarters weighing 14k lbs with both of these trucks. I was very satisfied with both engines and the gas engine handles the trailer fine with the 4.30 gears - in 2006, the diesel was approx. $4k extra, in 2013 it was over $8k. It's really hard to justify a diesel these days unless you just want one. I'd order the 6.2L again also in a heart beat.

I also have a 2015 F350 CC DRW with 4.30. as stated earlier had to order it. Originally ordered SRW but dealer messed up order and got a dually. I decided to keep it and have been very happy with it. I pull a 14,000# fifth wheel about a dozen times a year and the truck performs very well. Its is also my daily driver, only complaint is mileage but if I wanted good mileage I would have bought an econ o box

If you don't mind me asking what kind of gas mileage are you seeing?

Hi Smote
I drive 50 miles round trip daily combo interstate and side roads and my avg mpg hand calculated is 10.2. Lie O meter says 11.5. I have been logging all of fill ups and mileage in an excel speed sheet since day one. 10.2 is the average of daily, towing and E 85 mileage.
It usually drops to 8.5 to 9 when towing and around the same when running empty on e 85.

Do you run yours on E85 all the time empty and towing, I towed one time on with E85 and it wasn't good experience considering both mileage and power lose. I do run E10 all the time and can't really tell the difference between that and standard 87 octane. I get 8 to 9 pulling and 11 to 13 town depending on the area we are in, empty hwy it will get 13 to 15 depending on road conditions and speed, with 4.30 gears high mileage empty won't happen but they are the only ones I would pull with.

Denny I haven't run e 85 towing and don't really plan on it due to the mileage drop.
I have not taken any long hwy empty trips yet, but I had hoped the mpg would improve.

I also track all fuel used and hand calculate mpg. To date with 27k on the clock, I've averaged 11 mpg with approximately 40% of those miles towing the 14k lb trailer. The message center tracks the miles that you have a trailer plugged in which makes it real easy to keep up with % towing. I usually pull at the posted speed limits. Empty mpg is in the 13 to 13.5 mpg, towing is in the 8 - 9 mpg. On a 150 mile interstate trip at 60 mph, I averaged 16 mpg, on the return trip the same day at 65mph, I averaged 15mpg - so speed has a great effect on the mpg, especially with the 4.30 gears.

its a done deal

They met my price. The order goes in Monday. Was able to keep the business local which was a goal. So we'll see how quickly Ford can turn this order around.

When we ordered ours they said 6 to 8 weeks but it took 11, after we took delivery there was a recall with the transmission lines but mine was fine, I think it was held up for the new lines.

When you get it take some time to get used to the way it runs and makes power, it's a different beast but when you get used to it it's a beast
