? on attaching window glass to brackets

Hey folks, what do I need to use to attach the bare glass to the vent window frame, and the door glass lift channel? I see the original had some type of rubber/adhesive.

The correct way is to use glass setting tape. The door windows are fairly easy, but the vent windows can be a real bear. Take them to a glass shop and have them do it. Well worth the $$.

Once I used window urethane adhesive to hold in some vent glass.......horrible mess and no way to ever get them out again....

I had good success in using a DRY bar of soap and a rubber mallet very carefully to tap the glass home. I put the big side glass on a good cushioned base and then very carefully tapped the bar onto it. About the same with the side vent glass and frame.

The problem with setting tape on the vent glass is it gets all bunched up in the corners. You have to pie cut it and use a heat gun to form it to the glass. Very tedious.
You can't force it here......

just saw a truck this weekend that the owner used the cork style glass setting material on the vent windows, looked very nice with no bunched up corners.

Have 10.6 feet leftover from the stock truck & 1ST-RIDE build . Send a PM if interested . The glass setting tape works just fine w/ patience & finesse . Cut the round shape from a 2 x 8 & used some quick grip bar clamps to squeeze it in . Worked fine . Same procedure on the side glass .

Firstrider, on the vent glass did you cut the setting tape on the corners? Did you put a piece of wood on the back edge of the glass when you pressed it in?

Short pc. of 2 x 8 needed to accept the large curve of the glass.
Did not use a pc. of wood on t straight side . Pads on quick grip bar clamps will suffice .
Did not cut the corners of the glass setting tape . Once again have 10.6' of tape . It is also listed on upay . Good luck, be patient & carefully squeeze it in . Make sure the inside of your wing window frames are super clean . A little squirt bottle of soap & water will help .
