any 4" lift with rear springs

I have been looking and reading, but can not seem to find a 4" lift for a 2003 super duty 4x4 with a 5.4 gas that has new rear springs. Would a BDS 4" front lift work with Icon 5" rear springs if I used shorter rear blocks? The 5" rear springs usually come with Icon's 6" lift. My truck actually sees a good bit of offroad at work as I am a pipeline construction utility inspector.

It's pretty hard to find a lift kit with new rear springs because it's much more expensive, and most people care more about price than quality. There's no reason the Icon 5" springs and shorter block won't work. You might need new u-bolts (depending on how much thread they have), but it's a good idea to change those, anyway.

Ok thanks, I just didnt want it to wind up being a lot higher than the front. I have a friend that says he can get me any parts at dealer cost so I thought I would check here first.

Worst case, you remove the rear blocks completely, which is really kind of the best case.

Yea I would like that because I have had a tire hanging in the air a few times.

All companies sell rear lift springs, some offer them in the kit for an increase in price. For the least amount of axle wrap removing the block is the best way to solve it, only problem is you'll have to buy a degree shim to get the driveshaft/pinion angle to the correct spec

Just in case I do have to remove the rear block completely, can I just make my own and eyeball the angle between the axle and pinion till it is straight, or is there more to it?

You can pick up an angle finder pretty cheap. Ideally, you want the u-joint angle the same at both ends of the shaft. Normally, the pinion is set 1-2 degrees down from that position so it will be correct under load.

Ok so I do not want the pinion to be straight with the axle? Just make the angle pretty much an even split between the transmission and the pinion with 1 to 2 degrees in favor of the pinion side.

Just to update. I eventually went with a skyjacker 4" all spring lift with the m95 shocks. Install was easy and the truck rides better than my wife's 2014 super duty.
