I say keep the vent windows for all the above reasons, so I won't repeat them. But here is another reason: the division bar is great to hold onto when you drive with the window down.

Down here in Texas AC is much better than the vent windows and the cowl vent. Thats why I went one piece windows in my '52. 99% humidity when it is well over 95 in the summer is not fun no matter how much wind there is.

Lots of discussion/opinions about door windows but no mention of cowl vents...I always got a lot better flow of air through the cowl vent.

I have decided to keep the vent windows (was always my plan...but had a lapse in judgement today apparently...).

The reason I'm even talking about it is because the driver door glass is shattered. Can someone confirm that I can take my passenger side glass and have two pieces cut exactly like it to get new side windows for driver and passenger side? I was going to buy a whole kit at the show, but he didn't have clear, only smoke.
The glass appears to be flat so I don't think there is any differences between the two door glasses. I have a broken script driver door glass here that you're welcome to have for a pattern.
The shop that cut my glass recommended a slight green tint to match the original.

Just something to think about. I have a short shafted side mirror on my 56 and can hardly see anything in it because of the VENT Division bar. Even looking "Way Cool" in patina A/C is really nice on those long hauls. Not that I've got it.

I've had no problems with mine on the panel, they are electric, I'm also doing solids on my pickup but with cranks. What do you have besides a very nice 56?

John what brands of windows, electronics etc did you use in your one piece conversion? I really don't like the whistling vents (or the previously mentioned blind spot) even though they do flow serious air. Im a A/C with smooth Jazz (aka elevator music) guy now.

I bought my electrics from EZwire and the window kit from Midfifty.
