damn whistling driving me crazy
I have a whistle from my 2000 f250 super duty when drivin over 60 mph. windshield is new, seal around windshield is good (looks good to me).
whistle sounds like its on right side when driving, and left side when sitting in pass side. wife narrowed it down to the over head console sunglass pocket is where whistle is loudest.
could the clearance lights be whistling? how does one tighten them up or add sealant to the bottom of them to seal them to the roof.
do I have to drop the front of the headliner to access them?
thanks

My '01 F-350 (with clearance lights) had a whistle at highway speeds after the windshield was replaced. It didn't whistle with the previous windshield, so after a couple of weeks of going nuts trying to find the noise, I took it back to glass shop, and we took it out on the highway so that they could hear it. They took the windshield out and remounted it, and that stopped the whistle.
It's been over twelve years, but if I remember correctly, the first glass tech apparently didn't clip the molding back on precisely and it stuck up just about 1/16th of an inch or so higher than it was supposed to. Standing next to the truck, you wouldn't even notice it. He'd glommed on a little extra sealant, so it didn't leak water, but that little extra molding height caused it to whistle in the air flow. The noise drove me to distraction

There is a discussion with the word "kazoo" in the subject.
I suggest running painters blue tape around the windshield. If that stops it you can refine the coverage to left or top, etc. but the answer will likely be what RightWingNutJob said. I had the same problem on my '11 xl.

That's what I did. Worked great.
