We mean this post to be just an introduction. We don't want to fall on the unhappy side of the forum admins, so any commercial issues have to be addressed in our vendor ad here:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...discounts.html

Please help us stay on the happy side of forum admins and do not post commercial questions here.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Have a great weekend guys!

Have a great day,
Mike

A couple things:

How hard is it to remove from the door when it's in? It looks like if you were to use your finger tips on the edge of the handle it'd pull right out of the door.

What's the real durability of this? How many times of grabbing it and closing the door does it take to break one, or how much exerted force on the handle?

What's the weight on it? Is it heavy enough to stay in the door if a guy were to have sweaty sticky arms and pick his arm up off of it? That'd be far more of a distraction than uncomfortable arm rests.

And lastly, is it leather wrapped all the way around, and what's keeping the plastic insert from marring up the door panel from vibration and friction during use?

Hi

Thank you for your questions.

The SnapRest fits in the door pull recess snugly. It's base is made of polypropylene which contracts slightly while it's pressed into the door pull recess. It's removable from the door, but you need to wiggle it around a bit while pulling it up. It's not hard, but it's not easy either.

For this reason, it will not dislodge. We've made trials whereby we would rest our entire body weight on the edge of the armrest and still it wouldn't slide out of the door pull recess. It weighs about 1.1 lbs. More than sheer weight, the design of the adapter (the part that slides into the recess) and it's design makes it impossible to dislodge by itself. Forget about sweat. You would have to superglue it to your arm to pull it out. And you'd be in a hell of a lot of pain for a hell of a long time afterwards.

You won't break it. The polypropylene base is engineered with reinforcements and ribs to make it very durable. It comes with a full 1-year warranty and we do stand behind this product 100%.

The leather wraps around indeed. Besides the door pull, the armrest sits on a layer of leather, which prevents it from marring the flat surface of the door factory armrest. And the tightness of the adapter in the recess makes it such that the adapter doesn't move in the recess at all, so no scratching there either.

Have a great day,
Mike

Guys, we are now working on available color options so that all of you can get the SnapRest that matches your interior so please let us know what would be your favourite SnapRest color.

Is it black? Adobe? Steel? Medium stone? Chapparral? or maybe something totally different?

We will gladly reward you for assistance so please let us know your thoughts

And now a bit more from our photoshoot. Well, these pics do not show the product itself but they're cool anyway - just as cool as the SnapRest

Take care

Thanks for clearing that all up. It sounds like a whole lot of thought went into the product.

Well, I must admit you're right - a team of 5 people, including 3D automotive designers, plastic injection molding engineers and F150 owners have been working on this project since mid-December to make sure all the issues that may arise are addressed and properly taken care of.

For example - the shape of the shaprest - to make sure each and every single part is perfect, we use a high end Swiss precision cutter from with the table 31' long and 9' wide (see how small a 45 sq. ft. leather hide seems to be ) to make sure the production runs smoothly and efficiently and that each part we deliver is cut to perfection:

This, among others, is why we guarantee quality, fitment and longevity of the product and the upgrade it offers to your driving experience

any questions welcome, of course

Take care

Guys, just in case you dropped by at our website and were disappointed not seeing the colour you are looking for: Please have in mind that the SnapRest website is in constant development and not all available options are always visible.

So what's the current color range?

Here it goes:

  1. Black
  2. Adobe
  3. Camel
  4. Medium Stone
  5. Steel

And here's the list of colors that will be introduced later, dependng on the interest from your side:

  1. Chapparral
  2. Sienna Brown
  3. Pecan

And now let me ask - what will be YOUR color preference?

And remember about our Early Bird 30% Discount - this will not last forever

Take care

Hi Guys

We'd like to thank all our Early Bird customers from this forum, and provide an update in regards to when the SnapRest will finally ship.

We have put all the pieces of the puzzle together. The injection mold that will produce the SnapRest base is completed, and tested. Here's the first molded base, produced using the final technology (earlier pictures showed prototypes made with other materials, significantly heavier while not so strong):

Here's what the end product looks like, for now on our working table:

The leather covers have been made in the amount of over 800 pieces, and these will be shipped to our assembly facility in Cary, NC within 48 hours (Friday). We expect them to be received, cleared through customs and ready for final assembly by the July 4th weekend.

We will therefore commence shipping the SnapRest to all Early Bird customers the first week after the Independence Day holiday!

The final SnapRest will be stronger than initial prototype (even though that was already more than sufficient) and will weigh under 1 lbs!

So, in summary, everything is on track. It's just that the track was slightly longer than we anticipated and building and perfecting the injection mold took about two weeks more than we expected.

To offer some compensation for the extended wait (we initially promised to ship late June), we will soon establish a giveback program, whereby we will PAY YOU CASH for your review (honest!)/endorsement of the product. This special offer will be applicable to early bird customers only.

Thank you all very much for your trust in this product and for your patience in getting your SnapRest. We promise it will exceed your expectations and we are working very hard to make sure it's nothing short of perfect!

Have a great day,
Maciek
