Lightbulb 4.6 f150 to 7.3 powerstroke?

So I've got a bright idea to convert my f-150 to diesel. Any ideas on what exactly would have to be changed along with the engine, trans, rear end, and suspension?

You'll need the engine, transmission, rear axle, front suspension, computer, wiring, and instrument cluster. Then you'll need to make it all fit and work together. It can be done, but it isn't going to be easy or cheap.

my sarcasm went right over you head.
You're not the first person to ask this or do this. Just use the power of the internet and you will find complete how to's I'm sure.
Because this question is asked about once a week here.
It's the new flavor of the month, lets put a diesel in there.

FYI, sarcasm almost never comes across correctly in writing. Using a might help some. But if you are hoping to communicate on a bulletin board, don't use sarcasm. If you're just looking to make a cute, snarky comment, then fine, go for it. But not to communicate.

See post 4.

And:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-7-3-swap.html

This seems like a good idea at first. But these engines and transmissions weigh about twice what your oem motor weighs.

Lighter, smaller engines might be a better choice, such as the 4BT Cummins or a 5 cylinder Mercedes. None are free, and you are really doing more than an engine swap in converting a gas vehicle to a diesel. Note in post 4 the inclusion of wiring and instruments as items that need to be changed.

IMO if you want a diesel pickup, buy one.

+ 1 with the above. F-150's are too light duty for an engine such as a 7.3 or cummins. A 4bt or one of the other small diesels would be more appropriate. You have to consider that the weight will all out wear on your other front end components as well.
