Wow. That’s an impressive load there. How does it pull for you?

That's a nice camper. I have a "17 2750. But that looks like a possible tail wagging the dog situation.

"But, but, but, the salesman told me there would be absolutely no problem towing it."

How do we know when a salesman's lying? When....

Looks like that thing has about an 1,100lb hitch weight from their website, that leaves you what a few hundred pounds to put in the truck? Looks like its over the GCVW for an F150 too....I would not want to be towing that thing with a 1/2 ton, wow.

The TT is a tad over 35' long and It pulls like you'd expect, one big sail in the wind.. Safety was the key word I kept going to when convincing the wife it was time for a bigger truck, just ordered an '18 F250 XLT with the 6.2 and 4.30 gears. While the 3.5 eco is more than capable of pulling the heck out of this, the rest of the equation feels... not quite up to the task.. Stopping quickly is basically worthless. Take my time is key and thankfully, I only move it a few hundred miles a year (less this year, setting it up @ seasonal site). I don't think I'd dare take it on an interstate.

Dry weight is 7558, tongue weight is just over 900 #'s. The majority of the gear is stuffed in my wife's explorer. The GCVW is 16,100 for my setup, I'm well under that. The model is a 3010BHDS, my copy/paste skills were a little off. While it's not 'fun' to tow, it tows considerably better than the 27' Forest River we had prior. Anyhow, this is why I placed the F250 order

Well there you go. That'll stop the constructive criticism right now.

My sundance xlt 283rb is 34'10" (38' open) but is only 6950 dry, tw 860 and gross of 9660. f150 pulls it fine, you know its there but it feels not a whole lot different than my parents 30' and his 7.3 f250. We had originally looked at a aspen trail 26rl, which i wish we would have got, have had plenty of problems with this heartland and the dealer has been useless.

Man, I didn't realize how much lighter travel trailers are compared to toy haulers. My 24' (28' total) toy hauler is GVW of 12k lbs and about 1,100 lbs hitch weight. Those Zieman frames are no joke though. I have about a 6k lb capacity in my TH garage.

Campers aren't meant to carry a load like a toy hauler so they don't have the payload capacity they do. The tongue weight is high on toy haulers to make up for all the weight you put behind the axle in the garage.
