Here's my overkill towing shot, complete with my mom and wife.
Checking in at Ohiopyle State Park here in PA.
It's definitely overkill for towing our Utah, but we're planning on moving to a hybrid in the next couple of years. I have to admit, the Excursion makes taking the dog with us on camping a lot easier.

2008 Tango 299BHS. Weighs in at 7400 pounds loaded out for a long excursion. Tongue weight is a surprising 1100 pounds. I use a 1200 lbs Equal-i-zer hitch and StableLoads. The trailer axles have been flipped. I can't leave well enough alone so I am constantly tinkering with the trailer. This setup has seen 13 western states from San Diego to Yellowstone and everywhere in between.

Some of you guys might remember me towing my 30' travel trailer with a 94 f150 300 i6. Well, I upgraded over the winter. This will be our first outing this year, headed to pigeon forge for the spring rod run for the weekend. We have a trip planned for the outer banks of NC in June. I will have to get me a 12" drop hitch before then, or flip my axles.

It isn't lifted, camper sits very low. From what I understand, the weight distribution hitches aren't measured like a regular hitch. The one I have now has a 9" vertical bar, with adjustable holes for the ball/weight distribution part. The way it's made, it's only about a 4" drop max. I need about 6/7. So, I need a 12" vertical bar.
I would love to flip the axles for ground clearance, but it pulls really good sitting this low, and it barely fits under my shed now. If I lift it, I would have to rebuild my shed.

Rebuilding sheds is hard work!

A few years ago in the U.P. of Michigan
Same trailer, different truck the Bad Lands of South Dakota
Also, a suggestion. Use your photo storage service to crop and edit your photos. That way they not only take up less space but narrow the focus of the photo down to the subject and not on the background.
Here is a similar photo of the above before I cropped it....

My '16 F150 just replaced that van this year. I was actually looking at the new full size Transit van as a tow vehicle but decided on the F150 because I am building a cabin on a piece of hunting land and needed the exposed bed to haul stuff and 4wd to get back to the site.
I've always had vans since the 70s and prefer them over other trucks. The Expedition shown in the SD photo was a lease. That was actually a duplicate trip we did earlier with the van when the kids were yound and then with the Expedition when the kids were older. I still had the van at the time as well and used for hauling stuff. I also still have that trailer. It is no longer road worthy and in semi retirement at my hunting property as guest quarters. Yeah, I tend to hold onto stuff for awhile.
