4r100 reverse problem

hey guys im new to this page. i have a 2000 7.3 with the 4r100. freshly rebuilt about a week and a half ago with all upgraded parts and a shift kit and triple disk torque converter. i was driving tonight and had to stop and i put it in reverse and i went to back up and i had to go ways back up the road. i put the pedal down a bit and it felt like something was holding it back and i couldnt go very fast at all.. slower than normal in reverse.. im stumped on this one thanks for the help!

Will it drive forward in neutral?

The only two ways I can think of that would make your problem happen is if the forward clutch isn't fully releasing or the brakes are dragging.

I would vote on brakes dragging. Had that happen to me about 5 yrs ago. Turned out my rear brakes had something come loose and the pads grabbed when in reverse. Luckily I found it out in my driveway.
