How low is she?

My '76 F100 was lowered when I got it it, however I want to go lower. The big problem I am having is I don't know how much the PO lowered it so I don't have a base line for a new lowering kit. Is there a base measurement I can us to determine the amount of drop I have now?

A base measurement? Sure....

Have someone with a similar vehicle provide the vertical measurement from the wheel hub centerline to fender arch because that takes out any difference caused by tire size.

Btw, the typical measurement from the I-beam to a stock bumpstop is from 2.25 to 2.75 inches.

Might want to post tire size, wheel size, and other options that could affect how the truck sits.

I think as HIO said, if I can get someone with a 2wd 76 F100 give me the measurements from the center of the hub to the wheel arch that should take a lot of the other stuff out of the mix

All that is needed to get ya in the ball part is a 73-79 2WD F100/F150 that hasn't been lowered.

Larry, we need to determine how much the suspension was altered to lower the truck... tire sizing only confuses the matter and should be removed from the equation.

My 76' F150 longbed measures 16-1/2" up front and 19-1/2" in the rear. I measured like HIO mentioned in his post. Mine is stock, but I'm sure the springs have broke in a bit over the last 39 years, lol. Hope this helps!

My 78' short bed is 18.5" up front, 20" back
My 73' short bed is 17.5" up front, 20" back
My 77' SCab long bed is 16.5" up front, 19.5" back.

The 78' basically has a new suspension where the other two ride softer.

Is that from the center of the hub to the wheel arch?

Okay... we're playing ball now!

What's your result Halvorsen? Btw, by what method(s) was your rig lowered by the PO? DJM I-beams? hanger flips? axle flip?

I have 17 inch in the front, 17.5 in the rear.

The PO moved the rear hangers and shackles. I was trying to determine what they did in the front. It looks to me that the front may be stock height.

Ya got stock I-beams, right? Measure the distance btwn the I-beam and bumpstop.. it should be around 2.5 inches.
