Wiring Aftermarket Fuel Gauge...???
I bought a Stewart Warner fuel gauge to replace the stocker in my '60 F100. On the back side of the stock one, there is a red wire that goes to the tank sender and another connector with two wires coming out of it which is switched 12v. I assume that one wire brings the power in, and the other goes out to other gauges.
I am also assuming I can just snip both of the 12v wires and put connectors on them and attach them to the new gauge and the system won't know the difference. Am I correct, or should I try to find another switched 12v circuit...if so, what would you recommend?
Thanks.

Stewart Warner's customer service is a joke. I wasn't worried about the gauge, I was worried about what that wire was connected to in the truck. I did it, then I think I fried the voltage regulator, then I tied into the other wire going into the voltage regulator and it's fine.
The short story is that it's for factory gauges, and all of mine are now aftermarket, so it's good.
