fuel pump on 91 bronco

Question on a 91 bronco, has the 302 efi motor, auto trans. When I turn the key to the on position the fuel pump will keep running, or making a buzzing noise.........and the truck wont start? Bad pump? Or where should I look? Its not my truck so that's all I really know at this point. Any ideas?

If plugs were wet it is obviously getting fuel. There is a schroeder valve somewhere on the fuel rail (looks like a tire inflation valve) you can check to see if there is actually fuel there. Basic diagnostics still involve finding out if you have fuel and fire, even with computer controlled engines. If you have fuel and fire it should start unless timing is wrong even if it wont stay running. Smell the fuel and maybe you can tell whether it is fresh or has water in it.

Spray ether in the air box, if the engine catches, it's a fuel issue, if not look to ignition issues,

Keep us posted.
