in summery, needless assembly line install part.discard without worry.

back many years i rebuilt my c6 in a car.i put it all together and i had this part left over.it scared the heck out of me.i didn't know what i had forgotten! i called up a local trans shop and described it (or i might have even went in with the part in hand actually.i don't remember which now) and he said that's what we like to call a lollipop! lol
he says not to worry.when they build the trans, they insert those on the assembly line where the dipstick tube goes to keep out debris.rather than remove it,they simply stick the dipstick tube down in,the "lollipop" then gets pushed down inside the pan where it's harmless and then can be removed during a trans flush or can even be kept in there forever, never hurting a thing.
needless to say i was relived.

good lord this was 20 some odd yrs ago now.thanx for making me feel old mc lol.
