are all lift kits the same?

I got lucky and bought a 6 inch skyjacker lift kit off a lady on Craigslist for $300 brand new in the box. The problem is its for an 88 - 96 f150.
Could I use it on a 86 bronco or is there something that changed between 87 and 88? I know f150s and broncos are the same in the front end and I think there the same on the rear end.
It's a basic kit with drop brackets and add-a-leafs

Does the box have a part number? If so, check it to see if it's compatible.

I don't think there was any difference between those years, but I would definitely verify before I tore it down and it didn't fit

I Googled the part number and it looks like it will fit 1982 to 96 f150 and bronco. so it will work for me.

the 9" stopped around 84 with some still around on the 85's.

doesn't matter though which rear diff he has. the lift will work regardless. Does that lift you bought come with Extended radius arms or the radius arm drop brackets? You will want to get extended brake lines if you plan to wheel much.

Well you can always buy the individual parts to get you the extended arms... consider the discount you got on the left in totality. You should still be ahead of the game!
