please do the following asap ...

turn in your licence;
sell any motor vehicles that you may own;
do not use any electrical appliances.

I second this in every possible way.

i don't think so.we're showing him that in order to find out,you'll need to check online at your state laws and if unsure call or e-mail the dmv,state police,dot etc.these are where the factual answers will come from not just our guesses.
he knows he could probably haul a couple ton in the bed of his pickup.probably 1.5 tom all legal once he insures that his truck is tagged correctly to do so,and once he fuels up,then hits his local scales to find out his exact tare weight.
it's all here.then he has example of what not to do too.anything and everything to do about hauling a load will help him ask questions and research with his state.
it worked for me too.it helped me poke around a bit more to learn im supposed to have dot #'s on both my trucks and im currently e-mailing my local state police to get help in doing so.anyone else reading this thread wondering how much they can legally haul in their pickups should hopefully of learned by now to do the same thing.

I used to haul 450 gallons of water in my '03 F250 and '86 F350 on a regular basis. Both trucks did it without breaking a sweat. As long as you don't have any broken leaves and your brakes are functioning properly, I wouldn't sweat 1800 pounds.

Finally went today, they loaded me full, 3600lbs of mix.

Jeff's Load

Barely pushed the bed down. It was definitely nice not having the back end jump around like when the bed is empty. Of course I only drove 20mph. I found a place 8 miles from home.

I wasn't particularly worried, just curious. Some people got all nuts on the subject.

Happens everytime someone asks a "how much weight" question. I swear, some people don't want use their trucks. Idk how much weight hauled in my f350, but it was probably over 4000lbs. I have a 4" lift and the springs were completely arched over backwards.

You're completely correct on that, i've had over 3000lbs of seed in the back of my old 94 F150 with only an extra leaf added to the spring pack and it was just fine. I think I can find an old picture of that if you want but I like this one better, 06 f350 29,000# trailer 36,500# gross, i'm not sure of the pin weight but it's freaking heavy....

You know you have the right truck when Dodge and Chevy guys tell you are nuts.....

My grandpa always said, "when it hits the bumpstops that just means it won't go down any farther, so put more on!"

351 Cleveland I think our grandpa's used to hang out together lol. My grandpa had some contraption of a hitch welded up on the back of his 41 ford 1/2 ton pick up and used to haul tractors with it. Lmao if it fit in the bed or on the trailer it got hauled .

X3 my grandpa had a 79 f150 with a 351m and 4 speed. Had a gooseneck ball and these rubber bumpers bolted top the frame that pretty much took the suspension out of the equation. He hauled 12k tractors all the time with it. After the 351 died a built 400 was swapped. The only thing more annoying than him not having a heavier truck was the stupid fricken 6 round plug he uses on his trailers. About a year ago he heeded my advice and got a 2000 2500 silverado with a 6 liter. He put the 79 on auction,it only had 120k miles on it and NO RUST and it sold for 1300 bucks when I told him I would give 2 grand for it
