Just saying. I would like to rering my engine over the winter and use the experimental head gaskets, I want to get rid of the huge ring gap and blowby it does, I will probably chime in during fall and ask for help finding the rings. I would like to do close setup as cummins has considering the ring gaps, it will be much better and the oil consumption drops together with refreshing the valve seals.

Totally.
Im looking at trying to stock a few sets of total seals for the 7.3 and 6.9. I think its as much of a performance upgrade to the engine as anything you can do.

I have a spare engine on the bed that should be running, so I will put that one in and can carefully marvel the original one to the perfection, nice fresh paint, it will be beauty. I will also try to talk my uncle into the head studs, maybe I can come up with viable upgrade even to the 6.9 engine for reasonable money. I just have to try it. When I am done with the truck, it will be as close as the new piece. Zinc coat the frame and fenders, maybe the whole cab so it will never rust. I plan to be burried in that thing when I am old.
BTW there is a posibility I see you in person during fall again, to many if and uncertain, but lets see how everything will work out.

Update.
The truck is leaving LA in container July 2nd and the ship should arive to Bremerhafen on August 3rd. I have been told the truck will be here in 5 weeks, but as it was delivered to LA June 16, it is more like 7 weeks. The port charges at Bremerhafen are 500 Euro for unloading the car from container. Man I want to work there, 600 bucks for pulling the car out of container. I am working on doing the custom clearance there, otherwise I need to leave there 900 dollars deposit and do the custom clearance in Prague, then sending the papers to Germany and they release the deposit. Time passes slow, very slow.

All right guys, the truck is in Hamburg Germany now, the ship will make a small hop to Bremerhafen tomorrow, then they offload the truck from the container on Wednesday, I am going there Thursday morning. I hope the batteries are fresh and it will wake up to life again after 2 month sitting in the container. Wish me luck.

The truck itself fires up just fine after sitting. No air intrusion, glow plugs seem to be doing their job, engine spins nice and fast... no reason it shouldn't be fine unless some idiot with the shipping company did not read my note about manual glow plugs and killed it trying to start it without cycling the GP's. But the note is really obvious and in both English and German so it should be fine. Worst case scenario if you bring one good battery that should do it... and if they killed the starter the new rebuilt spare is pretty easy to get to packed on the floor behind the driver seat. I will keep my phone close on Thursday in case you need anything...

He is very welcome in the R&D shop when he ends up back here though...[/QUOTE]
Thank you for kind words, you never know when I come, I am US adicted, I just love it there and I am crazy enough to just hop on the plane and go. I think I will postpone my visit, November and December is not very good weather on west coast, but it is still open.
