It's all marketing fluff, designed to make truck "R" look better than truck "F", truck "G" or truck "C". Entertaining, but hardly relevant. I'm not just slamming Ram, all of the truck manufacturers do it.
f you want to know the truth, go to forums like this and read what problems owners are having with a certain year, a particular brand, or a specific engine/transmission combination.
^^ This.
I haven't seen or heard of anyone damaging their truck by twisting up their frame like this. GM did the same type of thing a few years ago with payload in the bed, and they actually bent the tailgate. Which is fine because people don't generally conduct this sort of stunt with their trucks.
Yep, the Dodge has a stiffer frame which can have its advantages. What's wrong with that? Is anyone here dissatisfied with the flexibility of their frame?
I look at it like this. If a suspension bridge doesn't flex it will come down. I think manufacturers like to take what some misinformed people think is a weakness and run with it. That's the beauty of competition.
Too stiff and they break. Too flexible and they bend and break. I wouldn't worry about it. What are the chances you will be navigating a road like that. Show me something that will happen in real life not some worthless video that doesn't mean anything. Just my 2 cents.
