Bring a VET Home and send to a program...

You see a man on the street, maybe talk to him (or her) and you don't know what to do.
Should I take a chance? Who is that - I don't know them.

My heart cries, I know I should do something, but WHAT????

You can give them directions to a place they could go - but they may have no way to get there. They forget it over time, and it is words in the wind.

They don't have the means...

The feasability of it is a grass roots program based on finding a REAL veteran (not a fake) and bringing them home to clean up, and then first a veterans admin interview, and whatever program after that is indicated.

Provided they are willing

Can we create an outreach based on who we see around us?

Can we bring more veterans into care if we try????

There is risk. I hate to say that, but there is.

But can a program of watching for our "TRASHED OUT VETS" begin, where we find and rescue them?

ALL EYES ALERT, and looking for who can be saved......

I wonder
"WE TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN" extends - but not to criminals.
It would require a certain awareness of those who have gone too far

But even one who has compromised their integrity might be brought back into the fold

If we know of rehab places they can go, and they are willing to try - we should look for these ones

WE may be the only difference between offering a life and a future - or none they can see

Who will take such a one in?

At least until we can PLACE them where they can get the best help

It means becoming an intermediary with good recognition.

It may also be the last chance that they have...
