Codes, causes, and kaos! p0141, p0402
New guy here, glad to find this forum. I have been on other forums for my other personal vehicles, and toss in my .02 when I can help.
I own a bunch of trucks, and one of my f250s came up with this- p0141 and p0402 the other day. It made it back to my yard, with my employee telling me of lack of power and running poorly. He is right! So i got right with it, and did the obvious and quick (to me) fixes. I changed the o2 sensors (seems this truck has 3, 2 upstream, and 1 down. No change in performance. Then I changed the egr valve. No change. Today i changed the dpfe sensor. No change.
So, obviously I dont mind changing parts, and I need my stuff running good, to keep my guys happy. I would like to change the right part this time, lol. What do you guys think. It was running perfect before this. i am in los angeles.
This is a 2000 f250 5.4 auto 2wd. Has a well earned 210,000 miles.
Much apppreciation.

I have a Ranger with a P0402 code. From what I read, the EGR and DPFE Sensor could cause this, but there is a EGR Vacuum Solenoid that may also cause it, and it could be a vacuum line problem.
I would first look for broken vacuum lines before changing anything else.
Also look for anything that maybe clogged with carbon.
On my Ranger, the vacuum supply line for the EGR that came off of the intake manifold was full of carbon. I cleaned it out and will see if it fixes the issue.
Hope this helps.
