79 4x4 - level truck with front springs.
My ride height would look a bit better if she was level. not really looking to 'lift' her or much but from what my buddy says just look for front springs that are 2in taller for the front. (2in difference from rear height to front height right now)
If that's the case, what springs do you recommend and is that all i'd want to do? I have a pack of Energy Suspension box for all the front that's in my garage and ready too. Since we are going to be in there anyways.. might as well order the springs. I also noticed my springs now don't have those spring cups / lower mount/lower seats? . is that fine or is there some i should have?
thanks. truck in my sig.

yah that one. thanks.
I already have those bushings in a box from Energy Suspension (red). Had to email them to see about just springs. plus, i checked and my truck doesn't have those spring boots at all.

Just an fyi. When I had my 79 f150 I replaced front springs with a set of "heavy duty" coil springs. I think they were moog brand. It leveled out the front/rear pretty dang close. And they were quite a bit cheaper than aftermarket leveling springs. Could also have been just the difference between new springs and 20 year old springs.

My 79 F150 had a rake to it back in 1985 when I got it. I installed new Moog heavy duty front coils soon after, it looked the same. I've lived with it since, you sort of get used to it after 25+ years.
If I were to fix it, I'd look to the rear. I'd remove the blocks between the spring & axle & install something a few inches shorter. Shorter blocks, some new U bolts, & you're done.

Looking good I see new ball joints, a new exhaust pipe and maybe a new front axle u joint?
Yes just getting new coil springs (leveling ones from JBG) or some 2wd F250/HD ones might do it?
I think someone sells a rubber type coil lift spacer for our year, like on new style trucks. But new coils is the way to go.

Sweet yah will do. Thanks. Might as well get some shocks in the cart too. Those are pretty cheap.
ey, the whole driveline is new and bits. Pretty much all that hasn't been touched is the suspension, tranny and transfer, paint and body. have new floor pans ready to drop in this week, weather stripping, etc.

I don't consider myself a neat freak but working on mostly grease- and dirt-free truck is more enjoyable versus getting all filthy which I personally equate with "work". Do yourself a favor and visit a DIY carwash with a pocketful of quarters and blast all that gunk away. That way you can actually get real picture of what parts lie beneath and what yer dealing with.
Have fun!
