Think you tow heavy with your 5er...

Hello!

So you think you might be towing heavy with your 5er? This RVer might have you beat.

A person I know from another forum posted this up in the trailer/ RV section. He took the picture while driving back from Disney World. Most on that forum were pretty much Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Personally I am thinking a set of air bags and no problem. The bumper box is interesting. I'm wondering if the TV is a diesel or gas. Better yet! Is it tuned? LOL

Nice huh?

How did he get the Smart car up there? Then there is the thought "if he did this with what you can see, how about all the stuff you can't see?"

I'd like to see his weights. Looks to be a dually so the rear axle is probably good but I wonder about the front.

There are probably dumber things done, but adding 1800 pounds to the truck and way above the normal center of gravity plus the pin weight sure must make that combo a handling nightmare and quite possibly well above the load ratings I wont even get into the suspension, brakes etc. but that is just plain ..... stupid

A toy hauler would have been handy.

No engine emblem on the sides so it must be a 5.4L

Maybe he just didn't realize some one put a roller skate on his roof.

With that bumper box, does he just have always go straight?
It doesn't look like there's clearance under the 5th wheel to turn!
I bet he had a nice ramp system set up to back down off the roof.
I'm not so sure I'd feel comfortable driving it up there, let alone getting out once there.

Look how far back his pin is in the bed. Way aft of the axle.

Just think, he probably goes 75 in some states that way.

A slight cross-wind and he's all over the place.

No thanks! Not sure I'd even want to pass him.

That looks like a towing nightmare. I can see one simple mistake and the toolbox is on the road and he is driving over it.

The amount of suspension squat on that truck is leading me to believe he's just about to, if not on, the bump stops. Surprised he isn't towing tandem as well...

I cannot imagine any DOT person that would not pull that guy over while calling the LEOs...

He's an accident looking for a place to happen!

Hi,

My friend on the other forum said he wished he talked to him about the set up as he didn't think it was garner so much attention. However, the rig was heading North (Canada maybe) since the picture was taken before he got to his home in Vermont. Even though he does not tow he was amazed and perplexed by how this set up works for this guy as well.
