Driving at hwy speeds and head a pop noise in front end. Stopped and couldn't find anything, heard it a couple of more times, still nothing found, now I have a grinding noise left front wheel. Im out of town in bowling green, Ky. and need ideas of what the issue may be. 2001 Ford EX 4X4.

x2, the symptoms and sounds described are exactly what happened when my left front hub assembly finally failed and seized on me on the freeway. End results were less than desireable and ended with an unintentional exit from the freeway with 5500lbs in tow.

Not to worry you or anything....
