Help me scavenge an econoline!

So, I posted this in the 99-03 diesel, but nobody seems to chime in there. Always a good crowd in the OBS section!

I have to opportunity to get some "upgrades" from an 01 econoline powerstroke. The van has 90k and a dead cylinder (the guy's crew used ether). 500 miles before it happened it received a brand new turbo. My OBS turbo is going out and i've been looking at budget options to upgrade. I was hoping that the econoline had an intercooler so I could get the whole exhaust manifold to 3" plenums and be done! At least I could get the exhaust manifolds, uppipes and turbo.

Are the later 7.3 E series turbos larger, and what injectors will it support?
They have 3" plenums >> am I correct?
-I'm thinking I scavenge exh manifolds, up pipes, collector, turbo, plenums.
-Would the 17deg hpop be a much better improvement to run my stg2? (my stock 15deg has 247k on it).
-Should I worry about the e fuel system?

Thanks for any input!

I wouldn't mess w the refuel other than maybe the pump and bracket..personally I wouldn't.

Get the turbo stuff as that outlet will make obs non ic with 3" plenums.

I doubt you will be able to use the driver manifold. And the pass should be the same as you have. Get the other turbo stuff if you can get it cheap!!!

The hpop, yea get it.

Thanks for the input! OBS forum rocks.
I could run the turbo/plenums non IC for temp and take care of that later. Great idea!
How much better is the T500 than a 17Deg HPOP?

The only reason I am looking at this option is because I'll be doing some driving/labor to get to the truck and pull the parts off and the owner is giving me a good deal.

I am not 100% sure but I honestly thought the van kept the smaller e99 style size outlet.
Since its a van I am not as well versed but I know they were non ic but bigger plenums.

Maybe ask in the Van section? Dudes there might know how it's equipped, based on the year.

My suggestion, don't waste your time.

The vans have different exhaust manifolds because of different motor mounts.
Different oil coolers.
The valve covers are different as is the fuel stuff, all harness/wiring, pretty much everything you see is van specific.

The turbo is useless for you and actually a downgrade from the OBS stock turbo for the work involved.
You should be able to salvage the turbo the pedestal, though, and intake plenums.
The HPOP would be a good grab, too.
But that's about it.

Van motors are very difficult to get rid of, in fact, I have one still here on a pallet I've tried to sell for over 3 years and gave up. Guess it will sit here till I need a good block for something.

Schooled! Thank you all for your input. I'll pass on it. I was going to hopefully get good parts on the cheap but the drive involved doesn't make it worth it (lots of miles) for marginal "upgrades".
Thank you guys! Always reliable for solid info
