Hello, I am needing some assistance.


Maybe this forum can help.
I have a SCT-3015, installed in my 2008 F350/6.4L - EGR delete. Straight pipe.

I tried one of the pre-programmed tunes: Tow Haul on my truck.
Upon what the tuner reported has a successful download/tune.....my truck ran horribly.
Hard time shifting, timing was off and it ran hot.
So after only having the tune loaded for 20mins, and all my gauge lights flashing, I pulled over and shut the truck off.
It would not restart.
I pulled the tuner out and returned the truck to programmed stock.
It restarted and I drove home, no further incident.
Next morning the truck wouldn't start again.
Again I pulled the tuner out plugged it in, and now it gives me a U0073 code.
I deleted the DTC and tried to start.
Nothing.
So I plugged the tuner in again, and now it says it cant read the ECU.

Now what?


Suggestions. Tips.

 

Which model SCT tuner do you have? Does it have the programs installed on it for the DPF deleted? If you purchase the 7015 on ebay for around $300, it probably doesn't have the correct tunes on it. Did it ask if any emissions equipment was removed? Also, gearhead at this time isn't writing tunes for the sct 7015 (what I also own).
