This was the one feature that I didn't care for in my older KR. I could never get it to program to any remote opener. With every vehicle I have programmed I never had a problem until I get to the Homelink equiped ones. I have done what the manual says with no success. I guess I need to go put in some extra time but with the 100 degrees scheduled for today I don't see it happening today.

I too had the same problem but called the 800 number and each time they walked me right through it............1 - 2 - 3

Everybody else will rally to your defense, but c'mon man...

 

tip...it is much easier if you have a helper, one at the garage door opener and one in the truck. You only have 20 or 30 seconds to push the buttons on each, in succession so unless you jump off the chair or ladder after reaching up to the opener and can run really fast to the truck switch, it is easily screwed up.

 

Also make sure that know with system is there..........HomeLink or Car2-U

 

I have the Car2U system in my 2010 Platinum. Very frustrating programming- erased everything to get started and when I program 1 door, when I go to use it, it opens both doors that are side by side!!
800 number no longer in service- web page of NO help...

Ironically I just had to try to reprogram the POS Car2U opener. Yes Lear Corp no longer supports it. SO I ordered a 2012 matching visor with easy to (and always has been) HomeLink replacement visor.

 

I never did get the opener on the visor to work after several tries with the manual open on my lap. I spoke with the Service Manager at my dealership and he said he would walk me through it. It still didn't work despite the service managers help.
So I still use my opener button that sits in the tray in front of the shift.

 

It used to work but obviously something was screwed up when I tried to reprogram. Tried again today and my computer savy son helped. Couldn't get it to work. Wish we had the Homelink!! Finally gave up and got out the old remote and slid it on the visor...

 

SBV45, sorry to say but my service dept never heard of XCar2U, thus did not know anything about programing and was the first to admit it.


skl, don't give up, try to locate a 2013 to 2015 used color matching visor and replace yours. Or purchase a new replacement for the newer year

 

I have tried to program mine a dozen times with no luck either. This is one of the crappiest Ford options out there IMO.
