BORDERBUM'S 79 F250 4x4 Explorer

This is my accidental buy truck that I'm pretty proud to say I bought. My Grandpa had a Explorer that he loved to death, so this truck will be a tribute to his truck.

My Grandpa's truck...those are not dents, they are wrinkles in the paper that was folded.

This was the original truck I bought. But by the time I got it it was missing differentials, motor, tranny, hood, grill pieces, and other stuff. I have most of this stuff from my diesel conversion on my other 79 F250 4x4 Bandit.

Installing Dana 70 duelly rear end that I will run as a single wheel rear end unless it causes too many issues, then I'll just find a Dana 60. Lol

Nice door panels to go in when ready... My Grandpa's truck had a mostly brown interior.

Brown seat from a 90s model truck with the fold down center console. $30 find. Still need a 70s frame to get it installed.

Went ahead and painted the instrument cluster needles. Made a world of difference.

Goal of this truck is to paint it white like my Grandpa's and put a brown interior in it. Get it road worthy and drive it. Nothing too fancy on this truck, just drive it. I'll use it to haul gravel and such, it will still work.

Plans include, 4 inches of lift and 35s.

I have F350 springs on the back as of now with the Dana 70.

The front springs are not factory, they could be highboy springs...not sure, but I do have some 99 gas super duty springs ready.

I think the Bushwhacker flairs will hide the dually rear fairly well.

The issue with those Bushwacker flairs is just FINDING a set. Bushwacker does not make them anymore and if you do find a set be ready to pay $$$, maybe on Ebay?

Truck looks good, now you have 3....whats next a Bronco? lol
