Nice project. I spy an Explorer EFI upper intake under the hood.

I'm trying to decide between installing a '90 Mustang GT 5.0L H.O. engine or fuel injecting a 351W I have to go in my '69 F100 short bed.

Yes that is an Explorer upper and lower intake. Carburetor is cool but I wanted fuel injection on an old truck. Depends on your pocket or your skill level for injecting an oldie.

I've fuel injected older Mustangs. I have the complete EFI 5.0L engine from a '90 Mustang GT with a choice of a Cobra upper/lower intakes or a GT40 tubular upper.

I have a pair of 5.8L factory EFI lower intakes (one cast iron, one aluminum) that either the Cobra or GT40 uppers could be put onto to fuel injected the 351W with. (I would REALLY like to have a '93-'95 F150 Lightning 5.8L engine).

Nice truck Bob, I really like the patina! I don't care too much for modern wheels on old trucks but your wheel and tire combo looks great! The white spokes complement the white highlights on the truck. There's just one thing that's wrong.......we need more pics.

What are the specs? Engine, trans, suspension, brakes, and interior? More pics would help immensely.

What was the most challenging aspect of the project?

Here she is the way I found her. Been parked on a Pleasanton TX ranch since the early 90s. Purchased the complete truck in Oct. of 2013 for $500 from the original owner. Plans are; 5.0 f.i engine, AOD transmission, Crown Victoria front end swap, modern wheels, creature comforts but leaving the 45+ year old paint job. Truck has never been wrecked. Original 68 sheetmetal.

Big difference between then and now.

Currently, my '69 F100 has a 240 and a C-4. I initially thought about installing an AOD with either a 5.0L/351W but, after a LOT of reading/research decided the Ford 4R70W would be a much better choice.

With a fuel injection install, what's a few more wires to install an electronically-shifted 4-spd. overdrive that's a much better transmission with more capabilities? --I already have the '98 model 4R70W transmission and the Baumann stand-alone shift controller for it.

HIO silver, the most challenging part is keeping oil prints off the body since it is not clear coated. Sounds like you have everything lined up ultraranger.

Ha! Just use a light cleanser like Bon-Ami to get rid of the fingerprints. That's what I do to the LBB.

January. 2014; now the fun starts. Rolled her in the shop and about to remove the stock front suspension and make way for a C.V swap. Local pick n pull had a half off sale so I scored a Crown Vic frontend for $250.

Everything cut and removed. The hardest part of the swap. Added inserts between frame rails before boxing.

And done. Rack and pinion steering, disc brakes, I.F.S, and a 4 to 5 inch drop done on a Saturday.
