2010 F350 Intermittant Wrench light

OK. So i own a 2010 F350 4x4 DRW truck we got to tow our 5th wheel. It normally sits in the garage and currently has 21,000 miles on it. Last fall we went to Richmond, VA from NY and about 2 hours into our ride south the wrench came on and i lost all power up the hill. Pulled over on shoulder shut off truck, restarted and wrench is gone. Rest of trip was uneventful. Going to NH on our next trip same issue. I took it to the dealer who has done the service since i bought it (albiet only 5 oil changes - once a year) and they ran computer tests and find nothing wrong. The only suggestion they had was to do a manual regen on the motor. They tell me it doesn't drive enough and when it does its under load (towing a 15K trailer) so it builds up. Does any of this make any sense ? I always fill the truck with fuel when it goes out and use the grey bottle of DK since new. Again 5 oil changes (6 months old, then yearly. Last one only had 400 miles on it)

Some of it did, I think what he's saying is it needs to be used more. Do you drive any distance going to and from work, use it to do some freeway usage. Put some miles on that truck.

It doesn't. The only time it goes out of the garage is to tow the trailer. I have used it a couple of times to tow a horse trailer also, but gets used rarely. I was hoping once it was paid off it would still be worth something ! I have a company vehicle so dont drive it to work.

You need to know the code. When it comes on again, if possible don't shut it off and read the code.

That will help a lot.

A simple OBD reader will give you the code. Then you can jump on here or google it to tell what it is.

The code is till there in the history.

How far is work?
If it will get up to temperature going to work, drive it once a week, it wants to get out more.
And if there is an underlying issue like a sensor you'll find it before your next pull.

I'm on the road for work so don't have the option of driving it. I have not been able to pull a code as every time it happens it is on the freeway hauling the camper, so just getting pulled off the highway is the hardest part as i loose all power.

For the OBDII codes will one of those basic $50 units work ? If so i'll pick one up and throw it in the glove box. The truck has not been out of the garage since last fall. I'll probably pick up oil and a filter this week for its annual oil change, but no trips are planned for a couple of months.
