64 f100 2wd turn signal switch wire colors

Hi everyone,

I bought a turn signal switch for my 64 f100 2wd from some unknown location (I think Green Sales Co, but they are closed so I can't confirm). Anyways, it didn't come with any instructions on the color wires. I have the following wires:

White with blue stripe (right front turn)
Green with white stripe (left front turn)
Orange with blue stripe (no idea)
Blue with no stripe (turn switch feed)
Green with no stripe (right rear turn)
Green with orange stripe (no idea)
Blue with yellow stripe (horn relay)

The parenthesis are where I think they go, based on the information in the American Auto Wire directions. American AW says that the I should have the following wires (with the connection)

Red with black stripe (brake switch)
Yellow with no stripe (left rear turn)

I guess my question is, am I correct with the connections in my first list, and where do the two wires go to that I have marked as "(no idea)".

Thanks for any help I can get from anyone. Sorry for the long message.

Steve

C3TZ-13341-B .. T/S Switch / Obsolete / 1963/64 F100/250 2WD

You don't need instructions on where the colored T/S wires go, if the original switch is still present.

The T/S wires feed out at the bottom of the column into a connector.

Cut the wires off leaving just enough that the colors are still identifiable. Tape the rest of the wires together and tie a long piece of heavy string to them.

Pull the switch from the column. Tape the new T/S wires together and tie the string to them. Pull the string from the bottom of the column, wires will feed down without binding up.

Now, all you have to do is insert the individual colored wires in their apropos location.

thanks nd, i've run the wires through the column already. i don't have the original switch or the original connector. i have what i assume is an after market ts switch, and the connector is from the american auto wire harness. nothing is standard. i was hoping to find out which color from the switch goes to the left rear turn, and which one is for the brake switch. the two color possibilities for those two are orange with blue stripe and green with orange stripe (coming off the ts switch).

This may be of no use to you at all, as mine is a '66, but I think wire colors stayed pretty much the same so maybe this will help. White w/blue trace = Instrument panel right turn indicator light. Another white w/blue trace wire goes to the right front turn signal. Green w/white trace = Instrument panel left turn indicator light. Another green w/white trace goes to the left front turn signal. Orange w/blue trace - don't have that one either. Have an orange w/yellow trace that goes between the turn signal flasher and the fuse box on the '66. Blue = turn signal switch to flasher. Green = right tail light turn/stop filament. Green w/orange trace - don't have that one either. I have a green w/white trace that goes to the left front turn signal. Red w/black trace = stop light switch. My left tail light turn/stop filament is yellow w/black trace, not solid yellow. Guesss this pretty much confirms what you already know. The two wires that you have no idea about are not used on my turn signal switch for a '66 two wheel drive, Custom Cab. Good luck!

Thanks Sabre. This switch just doesn't have the right color wires. So I broke out the ohm meter. I'll post what I found just in case someone else ever buys one of these switches. By the way, the part number is C3TZ-13341-C (B is what it should be, but the guy told me C is the same thing).

First color is main color, second color is stripe.

White/Blue - Right Front Turn
Orange/Blue - Right Back Turn
Green/White - Left Front Turn
Green/Orange - Left Back Turn
Blue - Feed
Blue/Yellow - Horn
Green - I don't know. I guess it could be the brake, since that's all that's left. I'm not sure how to check that yet.

Just a correction on the part number. Bill was right (go figure). I called Green Sales in Ohio. The one I put into my truck is C9TZ-13341-C.
