Curious. What is the engine hour count on this truck?

I had an early build 2011 and it had 150,000 miles on it when I sold it. I did a cyl leakdown test on it and did not see any sign of a valve leaking by, I decided that I was going to just quit working about it and drive.
from what I have seen the % of pickups this happened to is really small. I believe what less than one out of 1,000.
Ford has rebuilt heads for the 6.7 at a good price, depending on the shop, I think you could get the heads replaced for as little as $5,000.
when I on line priced the heads, gaskets, install kit, and both water pumps (all ford parts) is was about $3000.

+1

I wouldn't spend this kind of cash chasing something that is very unlikely to occur. If I thought it would happen, I'd trade the truck and toss the money you wanted to apply to the engine to a newer truck.

Is it a 450 pickup? Or is it a chassis cab? The chassis cabs had the issues due to the sodium filled valves.

It's a pickup. Does that mean I won't have the possibility of the engine valve problem?

You might want to get an estimate on what it costs to have this issue proactively corrected vs what the cost of buying a used or rebuilt 6.7 and having the engine swapped factoring in the low milage on the truck and how long you use it before / if the failure occurs. Digging this thread up tells me you've done a bit of searching and probably came across this, if not; remember most people come here for help with problems. The problems you see here are a small sample of all of the 2011 6.7s sold - now that works both ways, small sample of folks that had the problem as well as small sample of the ones that didn't have the failure. My opinion is use the truck for what you bought it for, worry about the issue if it fails especially if you have a warranty.

You've scored yourself a true gem of a truck with true low mileage.
