DBW-lots of myths... what's the real deal?

I have the five star tuner and my truck doesn't shift into 6th until 58 mph. The one thing the tunes does is adjust the shift pattern and torque converter lock up. It shifts more the way you remember or what your older truck shifted.
I run a performance tune 89 octane I lost a 1/10 of mpg.
Im sure ford would have a problem with a tuner as far as the warranty goes. The first oil change I put the stock tune in it and drove it around for a week before. Since then iv'e had 4 oil changes and don't bother anymore. I would have never kept the truck with out the tuner.

I'm not an aggressive driver, so I just drive my truck normally. It gets me to point A to B, and it will pull our 30' gooseneck when I need to haul something big and/or heavy. The 6.2L isn't no Power Stroke, but I'm hoping the low cost of ownership and the reliability of a gasser will pay-off for me in the future because I'm planning on keeping my truck years after it's paid for.

I dont even think about it any more. I start the truck, put it in reverse, and simultaneously hit the tow haul button. It drives so much better, but I won't spend the money on a tuner.
It does adjust to your driving, and I like it. In the winter with the plow and sander, it will downshift exactly when I would have going down a grade. Now with the truck hauling a trailer it does it at a different rpm and gear, but still close to what I would do in a manual. If it doesnt I just manually drop it down to the gear I want.
In my opinion, this truck w the 3.73
Gears will throw you back into the seat when merging. I drive very conservatively and come from a 7.3 diesel and feel like this truck has way more power. Just my opinion but I tow daily so maybe it is different .
