97 7.3 Powerstroke turbo diesel more power?
Hey I bought a 97 f-250 Powerstroke turbo diesel, I already have a green air intake and a Edge Evolution tuner which adds on 100hp, so my estimate is I'm running 319hp not sure. I know If I want to add more hp i'll need new injectors right? I heard the stock injectors can't handle more than 400. I would just like to know what I should all get to add more hp/torque. Oh also and if i get aftermarket injectors i'll roll more coal right? Thanks

welcome to FTE.
the tuner can add up to 100hp. not automatically add 100 hp.
a basic rule to go by is on a stock engine you will only see around a 60 hp increase with a tuner.
putting in larger injectors will not do you any good unless you add a larger turbo and bigger HPOP to feed those injectors.
then you are going to need more air in, and larger exhaust to get rid of it all.
lastly, black smoke is unburnt fuel, and bad for everyone. the "coal rollers" have brought so much attention to diesel trucks that there is now a bill before the federal government that if passed will make black smoke from the exhaust a $5,000 fine

Good luck with that edge.they are known to kill our pcm's so be weary of that.
If you want power you need to decide on a budjet. The sky is the limit on these but they are cash hungry.
You are prob making under 200 HP at the tires . that 300+ will never happen with stock injectors, turbo, hpop, fuel pump. Ask me how I know.

This should be a link for all those looking to "Roll Coal". Probably the best mod out there to accomplish just that.

He's back, lol. you can do a lot to these but it all depends on your budget. Basically set a hp goal and start working towards that. let us know what you want from the truck and we can give you an idea of how to get there
P.S. its way better to see the look of the other guy in the rear view than a black cloud

You will get darn close with building a drive line that can handle that power.
300hp is easily attained with stage ones,efuel,t500 ,intercooler, exh, intake,
1200$ injectors
500$ t500
350$ diy intercooler
400$ exh (?)
75$ riffraff 6637(intake)
425 $ custom burned chip for the specific mods
400-1200 e-fuel (diy vs bought system)
That should do maybe 300-350 HP I'm guessing. That should run darn good and if careful not destroy a drive train too bad(i.e trans or clutch)
